Learning Outdoors

At MVHS learning is not bound by the physical classroom walls. Due to the overall design of the campus and the exceptional location, learning takes place in connection with nature and the greater community.

Its not uncommon to witness our Physical Education classes mountain biking, snow shoeing, scaling our rock wall, playing 4 Square or pickle ball. Science classes conduct experiments outside and study our local flora and fauna. Art classes adorn our campus with beautiful, student created murals. When the sun is out, students and staff enjoy lunch in our courtyard on picnic tables constructed by students. Everyone is encouraged to learn outside even if it is just reading a book or having a group discussion.
