Moreno Valley High School is a charter high school located in Angel Fire, New Mexico. The school serves students in the 9th through the 12th grades. 2013 marked the seventh year in a row that MVHS has been listed on the Washington Post Challenge Index. This year we are ranked #87 out of 1900 highschools nationwide. Only two schools in New Mexico are listed this year. Visit the website for more specific information about the Challenge Index. http://apps.washingtonpost.com/local/highschoolchallenge/schools/2013/list/national/ Visit the WHO WE ARE section to find out more about the school.
#1 RANKING CELEBRATION ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15 The Moreno Valley Education Foundation hosted a celebration for our #1 ranking on Friday, November 15. Students, faculty and honored guests were treated to turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy and sweet potatoes. The LifeSkills classes made pumpkin pie for dessert. We toasted our achievement with sparkling cider. After Dr. Boyd spoke, Senior Jordan Mileski made the following toast: New Mexico has the 49th lowest graduation rate in the nation. However, there’s an oasis in this desert. Just as the oasis provides hope for the weary traveler, Moreno Valley High School provides the support necessary for the cultivation of successful students. Time and time again I have seen the absolute devotion of the teachers met by the vast ambition of the students. Though our time here is fleeting, the lessons we are endowed with will guide us for the extent of our lives. Out test scores are good, but that does not define us. Out graduation rate is high, but that does not define us. The strength of our community defines us. Despite scouring winds and the thirst for resources, our resolve endures and our sanctuary survives.
