Assignment and Test Expectations for AP Calculus and Honors Advanced Math
• Only assignments turned in on time will have the opportunity to receive full credit.
• Circle the problem number(s) (leave room for the work) you are having trouble with—list those problem numbers in the top margin of your paper. Turn in what you have—ON TIME, and you will be awarded an in-process grade. Get the help you need from me or your classmates to complete the assignment and resubmit it before the unit test—you will get full credit!
• Late assignments will receive 40% of the point total.
• On every unit test you will be expected to correct all errors on a clean sheet of paper and submit the corrections to me. If you need help with your corrections, I will be happy to help you!
• All students earning a score below an 89% must do a “point challenge” after you have corrected your unit test. You can earn half of the points missed up to an 89%
It is not enough that you get the “right answer”. You must demonstrate full understanding graphically, numerically, analytically and with words. This is the practice of “multiple representations”. So in 99% of your written work, a “naked answer” will not be awarded credit. Justification is a powerful piece of you overall understanding of the mathematics.
